Parallel Acquisition of Multicarrier Direct-Sequence Spread-Spectrum Signals in Partial-Band Interference

چکیده
The frequency diversity of multicarrier direct-sequence signaling can potentially offer robust performance in frequency-selective channels. This paper focuses on the acquisition of multicarrier signals in channels containing fading and partial-band interference. The maximumlikelihood decision rule for parallel acquisition in frequency-selective fading and partial-band interference is derived. Several simpler, near-optimal decision rules are also discussed. The performance of these decision rules is compared to that of equal-gain combining for multicarrier acquisition. Results show that the decision rules designed specifically for partial-band interference give significantly better performance.

Design of a High Range, High Efficiency Spread Spectrum Transmitter for Audio Communication Applications
This work proposes a direct sequence spread spectrum transmitter with high transmission range and efficiency for audio signals. It is shown that by choosing high process gain for spread spectrum signal the data could reach a range of 55km in the 2.4GHz ISM band. By employing a light modulation scheme, we have a relaxed SNR requirement for having a low bit error rate (BER) which translates to re...
متن کاملAnalysis & Error Performance of Multicarrier DS- CDMA System over Rician Fading Channel
-In this paper, a multicarrier signalling technique is applied to a direct-sequence CDMA system, where a data sequence multiplied by a spreading sequence modulates multiple carriers instead of a single carrier. This type of signalling suppresses the narrowband interference & it is very robust to multipath fading without requiring the use of either a RAKE structure or an interference suppression...
متن کاملMedian-prefiltering-based robust acquisition of direct-sequence spread-spectrum signals in wide-band pulse jamming
We propose robust acquisition schemes for chip time-synchronous direct-sequence spread-spectrum (DS/SS) signals in wide-band pulse jamming. To mitigate the performance degradation due to the impulse-like wide-band jamming signal, the received signal is preprocessed by employing simple order statistic filters. We consider the use of two types of median filtering schemes: a running median filter ...
متن کاملAcquisition in direct-sequence spread-spectrum communication networks: An asymptotic analysis
If direct-sequence spread-spectrum (DS/SS) modulation is employed, the receiver must acquire the chip timing for incoming messages before these messages can be demodulated. If the system or network employs DS/SS multiple access, also known as code-division multiple access (CDMA), the acquisition process is more difficult because multiple messages are transmitted simultaneously and in the same f...
متن کاملOverlapping M-ary Frequency Shift Keying Spread-Spectrum Multiple-Access Systems Using Random Signature Sequences
In this paper, a multiple-access spread-spectrum communication system using binary frequency shift keying (BFSK) or M -ary frequency shift keying (MFSK), and noncoherent demodulation is considered. In contrast to previous work typically assuming that the FSK tones are non-overlapping after direct-sequence (DS) spreading, here we consider a spread spectrum multiple access (SSMA) system under the...
